Ultimately I walked out of Song Sung Blue having had a better time than I thought I would. But I would have enjoyed it more if I had walked out about 45 minutes earlier. Not a bad biopic though.

The cast does a solid job, as would be expected from such a stacked list of names but Mirren and Spall particularly stand out.

When the finale is at its best, Vecna/Henry (Jamie Campbell Bower) is the threat. He’s giving a great performance and Henry is, legit, terrifying.

Raiff is an optimist at the end of the day, so it should be no surprise that when all is said and done, his thesis on a humanitarian level is: ”Maybe the kids will be alright.”

If George Bernard Shaw said youth was wasted on the young, Safdie proclaims, “Youth is for the young, and adulthood is for laughing at them.”

My biggest drawback of the series is in its energy, or rather a lack thereof.

Down Cemetery Road is a notable new British export.

Never has the mockumentary subgenre felt so monumentally big on screen.

This Part of the final season (perhaps) unsurprisingly feels like setup for the climactic finish

Despite being unimpressed from a story or character standpoint, there is enough to get me through the unnecessarily long runtime without checking out
