This drumming up of a battle between American Idol and LOST is a simple case of reality vs. fiction.

I agree completely! I’m not an American Idol watcher, but I’m also not a LOST watcher at 8 pm CST. We DVR the episode and start watching it after 8:45 so we can skip past commercials. I never miss it on Wednesday night, but I don’t watch it live. I don’t watch anything when it’s actually on anymore.
This is something that frustrates me because I know shows I’ve loved (i.e. Pushing Daisies) have been cancelled for low ratings, yet my never missing an episode didn’t figure into their ratings because I didn’t watch it live and am not in a Nielsen home. Ugh!
